Breath Work Part 5 ┃ Bhastrika Pranayama – Bellows Breath
Welcome to Part 5 and the final session of the Samsara Flow Breathwork Series with Malini from Samsara Flow Wellness Centre in Mulbarton, Johannesburg South.
This session explores Bhastrika Pranayama, traditionally known as Bellows Breath.
Just as a blacksmith’s bellows uses rhythmic bursts of air to ignite a flame, Bhastrika uses active breathing to stimulate energy throughout the body. In yogic traditions, this practice is believed to awaken vitality, clear stagnant energy, and prepare the mind for deeper awareness.
While previous practices in this series focused on calming, cooling, and balancing the nervous system, Bhastrika introduces a different quality — conscious activation.
This practice may support:
🔥 Increased energy and alertness
🔥 Improved focus and concentration
🔥 Greater breath awareness
🔥 Mental clarity and motivation
🔥 Reduced feelings of sluggishness and fatigue
🔥 A stronger connection between breath and body
As with all breathwork practices, listen to your body and work within your own comfort level.
This guided session is an invitation to finish the series feeling energised, grounded, and empowered by one of the most accessible tools we all possess — the breath.
Thank you for joining us on this journey through breath awareness, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and self-discovery.
